Hot Melt Carton Sealing Tape: Hot Melt Packing Tape Development

Hot melt carton sealing tape is specifically used by moving and express company. It is made by BOPP film and coated with hot melt adhesive. The physical property performance is decided by the mot melt thickness for example 50u tape is better than 40u. The tricky part of hot melt tape is that the adhesive is related closely to the application temperature. If the weather of usage and storage is hot, the customer does not need adhesive tape up to 50u, 40u could be excellent where the South America market prefers more to 40u and some regions in United States. The difference of hot melt tape and acrylic tape is the better performance of twenty fours hours persistent adhesive and stretch tenacity for professional logistic usage that would keep storage for a few more years. The hot melt adhesive has close adhesive on different surface.

For the production of hot melt tape, coating film and adhesive, and slitting tape is very much different with bopp acrylic tape. The coating of hot melt is made by scrapper while the acrylic tape by putting even in the glue drying line because acrylic has better flow movement while the hot melt is more stiff, which lead to strip line to be seen on the tape surface. Customer would notice the difference to hold acrylic tape and hot melt tape in hand. When it comes to slitting process, as the hot melt tape is more stiff and film is thicker, the slitting of hot melt take would take extra time and more air for the machine tension. This is why the lead time of hot melt tape is longer than acrylic tape. Cost is also higher. Another main function for hot melt is the easy tear function, which is high recommended by moving company staff.

The Hot Melt Packing Tape application is similar to acrylic tape so the package for hot melt tape is the same. Customer prefer one roll one shrink because the adhesive between each roll might be stick together if it is packed six rolls in a pack. Another reason for one pack is the customer sales channel, the specialty of hot melt tape result in higher cost and not used by most customers so it is mostly used in specific industry so the package would set in one pack not six rolls as a set.
